The Cowgirls welcomed Southern Illinois-Evansville to Gallagher-Iba Arena with an 86-61 beatdown.
Brittney Martin was the catalyst.
She is the leader of the Cowgirls (3-0), and her performance proved why against SIUE (1-2). The senior totaled 24 points and eight rebounds in 32 minutes.
It has been an outstanding start to Martin’s final season in an OSU uniform.
“I don’t want to find out (where the team would be without Martin),” OSU coach Jim Littell said. “She’s very talented and very smooth, and at times, she makes the game look too easy.”
Coming into Friday, Martin averaged a double-double with 18 points and 10.
