Former OSU wrestling star, 2016 Dan Hodge Trophy recipient, and three-time NCAA champion Alex Dieringer is up for the prestigious award of Best Male College Athlete at the ESPY’s this year.

Dieringer, who ended his Cowboy career on a remarkable 82-match winning streak, capped it off with a 6-2 win over Wisconsin’s Isaac Jordan at the 2016 NCAA Championships in New York City in March.

Winning in 2016 was nothing new for Alex. He was just the 14th Cowboy to win four All-American honors in his time in Stillwater, and just the 16th all-time Cowboy wrestler to win three national titles, as well as winning the Big 12 every year of his collegiate career.
