Cowboys take series opener against Kansas State

The Oklahoma State baseball team won its fourth straight Big 12 game Saturday when it defeated Kansas State 6-3 at Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas.

The Cowboys (16-11-1 overall, 5-2 Big 12) jumped on the Wildcats in the third inning with back-to-back homers from Trevor Boone and Carson McCusker. Collin Simpson joined the offensive parade that inning as well with an RBI single to score Andrew Rosa. Simpson and Boone both went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Joe Lienhard started and earned the victory, improving his record to 3-1. Brady Basso came in to relieve Lienhard and threw three shutout innings before he ran into trouble in the ninth.
