The eighth-seeded Oklahoma State baseball team defeated top-seeded Texas Tech 3-0 Wednesday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.
Blake Battenfield started on the mound for the Cowboys, where he allowed only four hits and struck out four in six innings.
Tech, ranked third in the nation, loaded the bases in the first inning, but Battenfield avoided any damage when he struck out Orlando Garcia to end the inning.
Slowly, the Cowboys built their lead with runs in the second, third and fourth innings. In the second, Cade Cabbiness hit a sacrifice fly to score Colin Simpson.
