The Oklahoma State baseball team overcame a pair of shaky pitching swaps in the seventh and eighth innings before it came away with the 7-6 victory over Dallas Baptist University at Horner Ballpark in Dallas.
Following a solid six innings from junior pitcher Tyler Buffett, who was making his first start of the season after eight appearances out of the bullpen, OSU (11-6) held a 7-2 advantage going into the bottom of the seventh when junior Michael Mertz took the bump.
Metrz and the Cowboys needed only nine outs to finish off the No. 26 Patriots (11-5) and begin their spring break vacation.
