Cowboys stumble against Kansas State, lose road winning streak

MANHATTAN, KAN. -- As the Oklahoma State football players stoically filed off the field, the Kansas State band blared its fight song from the bleachers facing them.

Coach Mike Gundy followed his team, lowering his head as he approached the tunnel.

The Cowboys’ orange chrome helmets glimmered in the sunlight, but any gleam of hope for a victory against the Wildcats had disappeared.

They walked past the blasting trumpets and pounding drums to reach a quiet locker room.

The Cowboys hadn’t recently experienced a situation like this on the road.

OSU, with a mostly stagnant offense, dropped a 31-12 game to K-State on Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
