ARLINGTON – Sam Garcia didn’t have to look back.
He knows the sound of a baseball connecting with the sweet spot of an aluminum bat. So, he had no doubt what the sweet clank off left-handed slugger Nolan Schubart’s bat entailed in the bottom of the eighth inning during OSU’s quarterfinal win over Texas Tech on Friday afternoon.
“As soon as I heard the crack of the bat, I was like (it’s gone),” Garcia said with a laugh.
Schubart’s home run in the latter innings against the Red Raiders did more than just clinch OSU one win.
