In the final minutes, Michael Weathers drove into the paint and dished the ball to McGriff, who speedily responded.
McGriff, a junior forward, secured the pass and threw down a dunk from the left side of the basket, refusing to let defender Tony Lewis deter him. The net flew upward toward the hoop as the rattle of the rim ushered in cheers from Oklahoma State men’s basketball fans.
The jam capped the Cowboys’ 69-59 victory against Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi on Saturday afternoon in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Mike Boynton, OSU’s coach, watched from the sideline on the opposite end of the court, pleased with the qualities he saw in McGriff.
