STILLWATER – Jawun Evans didn't star for the Cowboys Wednesday night, yet he stood out, simply by playing.
Everything else was icing: an as-expected 102-64 rout of Arkansas-Pine Bluff; double-digit points from five players and minutes for 14; and surely the topping for a post-game cake to celebrate Brad Underwood's 53rd birthday.
Evans started and played 22 minutes, a positive storyline in itself after the injury scare that kept him out of Saturday's game. The Cowboys point guard showed no ill effects from the sprained AC joint suffered in a practice late last week. And while he scored just five points, points weren't really needed from Evans.
