After battling back from a 23-point deficit in the second half, OSU fell 74-69 to Texas in its third straight conference loss.
OSU and Texas both got off to slow starts, notching only 13 combined points in the game’s first six minutes. Texas (11-6 overall, 3-2 Big 12) warmed up and went on a 12-2 run in the first half, as OSU (9-8, 1-4) remained stagnant. After scoring zero points in the first half, Tavarius Shine erupted after the break, netting 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting and 4-of-5 from beyond the 3-point line.
Following Wednesday’s 42-point performance, freshman Jawun Evans managed 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting, but also added eight rebounds and seven assists and a key 3-pointer with 14 seconds remaining in the game.
