Cowboys lose in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech used a four-run third inning to defeat Oklahoma State 8-2 on Saturday and even the series.

OSU starter Tyler Buffett had a rough outing as he allowed 12 hits, seven runs (five earned) and had only two strikeouts in six innings.

The Cowboys took an early lead with Michael Neustifter's solo home run in the third inning.

Texas Tech responded with four hits to score two runs in the bottom of the inning. Garrett Benge's throwing error allowed two unearned runs to score as well.

The Red Raiders added two more runs with Orlando Garcia's home run in the sixth inning.
