After dropping two straight nonconference home games, OSU edged the Minnesota Golden Gophers 62-60 on Saturday night in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Tavarius Shine played for the first time since the season opener after injuring his right shoulder. He scored six points and corralled seven rebounds in his return.
The Cowboys (6-3) also made changes to the starting lineup. Anthony Allen and Tyree Griffin, who both started the past several games, came off the bench. Leyton Hammonds and Jeffrey Carroll started in their places.
Carroll led OSU in scoring, with 11 points. All of his shot attempts were from 3, where he went 2-of-4.
