HUNTSVILLE, Texas – A frustrated Josh Holliday glanced upward toward the concourse adorning backdrop of Don Sanders Stadium.
The Oklahoma State coach, now in his 12th season as the coach of his alma mater, spoke bluntly. More so than usual following a season-opening 7-2 loss to Sam Houston State on Friday night.
“We didn’t play well enough to win,” which was followed by a 10-second span of silence.
Frustration. Bewilderment. Perhaps a mixture of both seeped out of Holliday’s facial expressions as seconds winded by. And then, he spoke again.
