A challenging weekend in Frisco, Texas, ended on a positive note for the Oklahoma State baseball team.
The Cowboys rolled past Texas A&M 8-5 on Sunday afternoon at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. After falling to UCLA and Illinois in Frisco, OSU improved its record to 8-4 with the victory against the Aggies.
Ben Leeper, the Cowboys’ closer, earned his first win of the season. Through the last two innings, he allowed no hits, runs or walks and threw two strikeouts.
Despite the lockdown pitching that ended the game, OSU didn’t dominate the Aggies (10-3). In the second inning, TAMU had four runs against freshman starter Bryce Osmond, spoiling the 1-0 lead that third baseman Kaden Polcovich’s RBI double had given the Cowboys in the first.
