For the first time under Steve Lutz, Oklahoma State had to respond.
After its first loss of the season against FAU, OSU bounced back Friday, beating Miami 80-74 in its second Charleston Classic game. The Cowboys were up double digits for most of the game, and Lutz’s influence was clear. OSU shot 22 3-pointers and aggressively pursued opportunities to run, whether off a steal or a rebound.
The Hurricanes made a late run to tighten the final score, but OSU was dominant for most of the game and earned its best win of the season.
Bryce Thompson and Marchelus "Chi Chi" Avery led the charge on the offensive end with 17 and 15 points, but it was the heightened awareness on the defensive end and the overall efficiency from the Cowboys that allowed them to win so easily.
