The Oklahoma State wrestling team started its dual season with a dominant victory Saturday evening up north.
OSU won the bout against South Dakota State 45-6. The No. 4 Cowboys got victories by fall in three straight weight classes with pins from Andrew Shomers at 157 pounds, Chandler Rogers at 165 and Jacobe Smith at 174. Andrew Marsden also pinned his opponent at 197.
The Cowboys (1-0) lost team points to the No. 22 Jackrabbits only when Boo Lewallen, OSU’s starter at 149, was injured and forced to default.
The Cowboys got no worse than a major decision in all but one of their matches against SDSU (0-1).
