For the tenth time Dave Smith, director of Cross Country and Track and Field, team will oversee his athletes compete in the Big 12 Indoor Championship Friday and Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls look to redeem their efforts from last year’s Indoor Championships. In the team rankings, the Cowboys placed seventh and the Cowgirls eighth.
In his tenth year as director, Smith shared his favorite parts about competing in the Big 12 Indoor Championships.
“The weather is always great,” Smith said. “I love indoor track because it’s a much tighter venue and the fans, competitors and athletes are much closer in to the action which creates an atmosphere with electricity and enthusiasm.
