Oklahoma State’s men’s tennis team secured a spot in the second round of the NCAA Tournament as it charged past UMKC in a 4-0 match Friday afternoon at Greenwood Tennis Center.
The Kangaroos didn’t go without giving 11th-seeded OSU a scare. In doubles, Cowboys Lucas Gerch and Jurence Mendoza dropped a 6-0, 6-3 match to UMKC’s Uldis Gaismins and Amaury Navette. Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe, the No. 7 doubles tandem, initially struggled in their match but sealed the tiebreak to defeat the Kangaroos’ Airam Castanello and Mike Psarros.
