Joe Lienhard jogged out of the bullpen to face the batter who started the game with a home run.
Lienhard and his defense had to salvage the Oklahoma State baseball team’s lead with the bases loaded and one out.
He threw a ball and two strikes against Cody Grosse. Lienhard released the next pitch, and Grosse hit the ball toward OSU first baseman Christian Funk, who wasted no time tossing it to catcher Colin Simpson. The ball smacked into Simpson’s mitt, ensuring Southeastern Louisiana couldn’t score on the play, just before Connor Manola slid into the dirt at home plate.
