After scoring 24 first-half points, OSU came out scorching hot.
The Cowboys defeated their rival, Oklahoma, 72-56. The win gives OSU a 6-1 record in its last seven Bedlam games played at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Sooners went into half with a six-point lead thanks to 15 first half-points from their leading scorer, Grant Sherfield. But the home team would prevail after another 20 minutes.
“I honestly didn’t say much (at halftime), I told them that it’d be a shame if one guy came in here and beat us,” said OSU coach Mike Boynton.
OSU forward Woody Newton, given his first career start tonight, drilled a three-pointer in the opening seconds of the final half.
