The Big 12 is in the market for more members, and there will be no shortage of candidates. But there's a shortage of good candidates. If perfect fits existed, they already would be in this Poison Ivy League.
But in the six years since the conference dropped to 10 schools, there always has been one obvious choice for Big 12 expansion. Not perfect, but obvious.

BYU offers most of the most important criteria. Strong football tradition and strong marketing brand. Huge fan base and big stadium. A national following. In some ways, international. Excellent academics.
