Before the season, Coach John Smith dedicated his team’s offseason training to conditioning.
The offseason regiment certainly paid off Sunday against the Minnesota.
Oklahoma State defeated the Golden Gophers 21-12, winning several matches after being tied or trailing entering the final period.
“We’re in good shape,” Smith said, “We took it to another level (in the third period).”
Meanwhile, true freshman Reece Witcraft opened his first match in Gallagher-Iba Arena down 8-1.
After getting put on his back and suffering four near-fall points, Witcraft escaped and went to work on his opponent, Brent Jones.
