The message is tattooed in a neat line on Cameron McGriff’s right forearm.
Greek characters spell a phrase that translates to, “Be comfortable with being uncomfortable.”
McGriff decided to get the ink in 2018 in Greece, on a day when the sweltering summer heat made him less than cozy as an American tourist. He and his Oklahoma State men’s basketball teammates were playing in Europe before he started his junior year, and he was trying to figure out how to shift into a leadership role in a group that had no seniors.
Throughout their OSU careers, forward McGriff and his fellow captains, guards Lindy Waters III and Thomas Dziagwa, have personified the meaning of McGriff’s tattoo.
