College football’s Week 2 arrives and figures to be a little better than Week 1. Thirteen matchups this week of Power 5 Conference teams, courtesy of four games that teams absolutely couldn’t get out of – league games. Last week, we had just 11 Power 5 matchups.
The SEC, as usual, was the big winner. SEC teams went 13-1 last week, including a 4-1 victory in Power 5 matchups. Thank goodness for West Virginia, which beat Tennessee. The ACC was the big loser, going 9-3 overall but 0-3 in Power 5 games, although the Big 12 (6-3, 1-2) and Pac-12 (8-4, 1-2) didn’t bust any buttons with their showings, either.
