Colin Simpson hit a grand slam with two outs in the eighth inning, and No. 24-ranked Oklahoma State defeated West Virginia 9-5 Saturday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater.
OSU starter Joe Lienhard had a rough day on the mound, allowing eight hits and five runs over four innings. Four relievers held the Mountaineers (18-12, 3-5 Big 12) scoreless for the remainder of the game to help OSU even the series at one game apiece.
OSU's Logan Gragg needed just five pitches as he tossed a perfect eighth inning. The Connors State transfer earned his first career win, and improved to 1-2 on the season.
