STILLWATER — Cowboys pitching coach Rob Walton walked with a purposeful stride to the mound Friday night.
Six pitches into the game.
Not good.
And it got worse.
Kansas State scored its first six runs on two hits, benefiting from much Oklahoma State generosity, and rode it out for a 10-4 win in Game 1 of a weekend series at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
A sense of urgency hung over the Cowboys, who carried a 1-5 Big 12 record into the series. Yet it was much the same for K-State, who entered winless in conference play at 0-6.
