Oklahoma State moved into sole possession of first place in the Big 12 baseball standings Sunday after a 6-3 victory over Texas Tech before 4,171 fans at Rip Griffin Park. The No. 9-ranked Cowboys improved to 29-14 overall over 12-6 in the league.
Home runs from Gage Green and Ryan Sluder in a three-run third inning gave OSU a 5-2 lead. That was enough for a committee of OSU pitchers, who blanked the Red Raiders (27-17, 10-8) on four hits over the last four innings.
Carson LaRue, who threw a team-high four innings for the Cowboys, had four of the pitching staff’s seven strikeouts on Sunday.
