Weatherford’s Quade Cummins waited a long time for his first eagle of this golf season.
Still, three was a sense of timing, as Cummins chipped in for eagle on the 18th hole Tuesday, capping a strong finish to the Class 4A Boys State Tournament – and his career.
A senior headed to play at the University of Oklahoma, Cummins took medalist honors with a final round 67, 5-under par at Lake Hefner Golf Club’s North Course, making him a two-time individual state titlist.
“That was actually my first eagle of the year,” Cummins said, “and it came on my last high school hole.
