Chuba Hubbard Snubbed as Jonathan Taylor Wins Doak Walker Award

It makes you wonder what an Oklahoma State playmaker would have to do to be named the best in college football.

Chuba Hubbard did not win the 2019 Doak Walker Award winner, given each year to college football’s top running back by the SMU PwC Athletic Forum. Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor was instead awarded the honor for his second-straight year.

Last year it was Tylan Wallace getting snubbed in the Biletnikoff race by Alabama Jerry Jeudy despite the superior stat line and impressive campaign, and this year it was Chuba’s turn.

An additional game, and a national audience in the Big Ten Championship, was enough for Taylor to nearly catch Chuba in rushing (he’s still 37 yards shy).
