Baylor played almost three quarters against Oklahoma State last Saturday with backup quarterback Jalan McClendon. Normal starter Charlie Brewer had missed one day of practice and been limited in others due to concussion protocol.
Then Brewer was inserted and led Baylor to touchdown drives on its final three possessions, including the game-winning TD pass to Denzel Mims with seven seconds left as the Bears won 35-31.
“When the game comes down to the end, Charlie is not rattled,” Baylor coach Matt Rhule said. “He's not too high, he's not too low, and he just keeps playing."
OSU led 24-14 when Brewer was inserted.
