Changing it up: Small lineup doesn’t pan out in OSU’s loss at Kansas

Kansas big man David McCormack destroyed the Cowboys in the teams’ last meeting, and Mike Boynton wanted to try and counter this time with a guard-heavy lineup against Kansas. The hope was it would give the guards more space to operate and use speed to their advantage.

That’s not what happened.

“I was hopeful that would be the case, and it got McCormack off the court early on because they were adjusting to our substitutions, but we still turned the ball over too much,” Boynton said. “We’re not getting ourselves in a position to score.”

Turnovers were a problem on Saturday in OSU’s win over Texas, and it was once again a problem today.
