Central Michigan head coach John Bonamego hasn’t coached college football since the 1990s. He been the special teams coordinator for the Detroit Lions for the past few years, but in the offseason was hired by Central Michigan to improve on its three straight six-loss seasons (and two nine-loss seasons before that). He’s also wading his way though cancer.
Bonamego spoke to Mark Cooper of the Tulsa World earlier this week to talk about the OSU game. The Q&A is very good — Bonamego seems incredibly intense — and you should read the entire thing.
I thought Glenn Spencer was speaking highly of CMU (and he is) but Bonamego is talking about OSU like it could compete in the NFC North.
