The goals have dried up for the Oklahoma State soccer team.
After scoring 24 goals in the first 11 matches with an average of 2.2 per game, OSU (10-3-1 overall, 2-2-1 Big 12) has struggled to find the net.
The Cowgirls scored two goals in the last three matches and suffered their first shutout of the season in the 1-0 loss against Texas Tech last Friday. The goal drought sent OSU to fifth in conference standings, trailing the leader Baylor by two games with four to play.
With the squad featuring seven returning players from last year’s most frequently-used starting lineup, coach Colin Carmichael opted to run the same system that bought the team its first Big 12 title since 2011.
