After Justin Campbell gave up five runs in a loss to Grand Canyon, the freshman wanted to prove his worth in front of the home crowd.
But coach Josh Holliday didn’t insert Campbell as the Oklahoma State baseball team’s starting pitcher. Holliday put Campbell in at designated hitter and he didn’t disappoint.
Campbell’s performance at the plate highlighted the Cowboys’ 17-2 win against UT-Rio Grande Valley on Friday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
Holliday said Campbell got the start at DH because of his production in the fall.
