Buffett provides leadership, senses progress in no-decision against TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas — Tyler Buffett received apology after apology Friday night.

He used it as a leadership moment.

After a pair of mistakes in the fifth inning of Oklahoma State’s 7-5 loss to TCU, freshmen second baseman Ryan Cash and shortstop Cameron Dobbs looked dejected as OSU’s 2-0 lead became a 3-2 deficit in the frame.

“Cash and Dobbs were looking at me like they just killed my dog or something,” Buffett said. “Them being freshmen, I had to let them know, ‘I got you. It’s OK.’”

The bottom of the fifth inning of began when Dobbs made a poor read on a groundball, leading to an infield single.
