NORMAN — Jason White would go to the park as a 6-year-old, brought along to his older sister's softball practice. Even then, White was being recruited.
The coach of a youth football team kept holding up a pair of football pants, telling White, “these are for you.”
White wasn't sure he wanted to play football. Heck, as late as ninth grade, he thought he was going to be the next Michael Jordan, not the next Josh Heupel. Finally, the 6-year-old White decided to play. But that decision came with a warning.
“You take them pants, you ain't quittin',” Ron White told his son.
