Brueggemann's grand slam propels OSU to first win of the season

ARLINGTON, Texas — Colin Brueggemann walked toward home plate with intent.

With the bases loaded, no outs and his team trailing by three runs in the fourth inning of No. 17 Oklahoma State’s 12-3 win against Louisville on Saturday in day two of the Shriners Children’s College Baseball Showdown, up came Brueggemann. Cardinals’ sophomore right-hander Parker Detmers had made easy work of OSU’s hitters, retiring nine of his first 10 faced and holding the Cowboys hitless through three innings. A chance to alter momentum rested squarely upon Brueggemann.

He knew how he wanted to attack his at-bat: aggressively, and without hesitation.
