The Oklahoma State basketball team will have an advanced slate of analytics this upcoming season through use of a new technological system coach Mike Boynton implemented.
The system is called ShotTracker, the product of a Kansas City-based sports technology company that dons the same name and showcases endorsements from NBA legend Earvin 'Magic' Johnson and former NBA commissioner David Stern on its website.
The system uses a tag on each player’s shoe and a set of sensors that were installed into the ceiling of the Cowboys’ practice gym in Gallagher-Iba Arena to give the coaching staff live, detailed analytics from each practice.
