Trevor Boone didn’t look toward the outfield when he ran.
The baseball screeched over the left-field fence, soared above the net and clunked against the press box at neighboring Cowgirl Stadium, where a softball game was underway. Boone, a junior center fielder on the Oklahoma State baseball team, had hit the lofty home run, but he kept himself from reveling in the glory too soon.
“I had a feeling it was going, so I just put my head down and started jogging,” Boone said.
