TULSA — Saturday night at ONEOK Field, Oklahoma State outfielder Trevor Boone narrowly missed a grand slam, his towering fly ball caught at the left-field wall for a sacrifice fly. He had no desire to suffer such a fate Sunday.
In OSU's 9-2 victory over Oklahoma to complete a Bedlam sweep, Boone went 3-for-3, scoring three times, driving in two and finishing a triple shy of the cycle. After his shot to left Saturday came up short, he instead managed to deliver a home run over right field's short porch in Sunday's sixth inning.
“I was just trying to stick with the approach and find a good pitch to hit, put a good swing on it and just see what Mother Nature wanted it to do,” Boone said.
