LAWRENCE, Kan. — Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops was asked this week if he feels like a college football team can be at all prepared for a gameday tragedy like the Oklahoma State community experienced last weekend.
Four people were killed when a car was driven into a crowd at the OSU homecoming parade hours before the Cowboys faced Kansas.
OSU coach Mike Gundy led his team in prayer on the field before the game and has been praised for the way he handled the situation.
“Not really,” Stoops said. “It’s hard to be. I haven’t seen what Mike did, but I’m sure he would have done what I would feel to do … to recognize it, acknowledge it, do what you can do about it, and that’s pray and think of the other people.
