Bob Simmons was head coach for Oklahoma State football from 1995 to 2000. He was named Big 8 Coach of the Year in 1997 after he led the Cowboys to an 8-4 record and their first bowl appearance since 1988. But OSU fell to 3-8 in 2000 with just one conference win and Simmons was let go.
Simmons grew up Cleveland, Ohio, and played linebacker at Bowling Green. He then embarked on a three-decade long college coaching career that included a national championship at Colorado in 1990, with Simmons as the Buffs linebackers coach.
Simmons earned his master's degree at Bowling Green and currently serves as a substitute teacher in Northern Colorado.
