Kansas men's basketball coach Bill Self "seriously considered" the Oklahoma State men's basketball job last coaching cycle, according to a Tulsa World report.
Self, 62, an Okmulgee native who played basketball in Stillwater and was an assistant under Leonard Hamilton and Eddie Sutton, has become one of the best coaches in the sport's history, winning two national titles and reaching four Final Fours.
After OSU fired Mike Boynton last March, it didn't find a new coach until Steve Lutz on April 1. Reportedly, the hiring process took that long because the Cowboys were taking "a swing" at Self.
