The turnover bug hit Oklahoma State early and often in its 61-43 loss Saturday to Oklahoma in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Six in the first quarter. Eight in the second. Nine more in the third. The Cowgirls finished the game with 27 turnovers in all, matching their season-worst mark on the year.
“You give yourself no chance to win when you turn the ball over 27 times,” OSU coach Jim Littell said. “You don't have to look any further on the stat sheet than that.”
In OSU's two previous victories against the Sooners during the regular season — 73-42 in January and 71-69 in February — it committed just 14 and 16 turnovers.
