STILLWATER — Michael Freeman changed his arm slot.
And that may sound simple — or complicated — or just come off as some baseball-speak that’s difficult to quantify.
Yet for Freeman, it changed everything.
Struggling to find traction in the game, and on the Oklahoma State pitching staff, as an unaccomplished college senior, Freeman emerged as the Cowboys ace and the Big 12’s most consistently reliable pitcher.
The big left-hander led the conference in innings pitched, holding opponents to a league-low .183 batting average against him, while going 9-2 with a 1.06 earned run average and 85 strikeouts in 932/3 innings.
