With a pause and a toss, Garrett Benge lit up his dugout.
Benge’s bat flip followed the home run that provided half of theOklahoma State’s baseball team’s runs in a 6-3 victory against Northwestern State on Friday. The three-run shot was his second of the game and fourth of the week, all of which have sailed over Allie P. Reynolds Stadium’s right-field wall.
“One of my keys in game is to be aggressive,” Benge said. “A moving bat is a dangerous bat.
“Just tryin’ to have fun with it.”
From the dugout, left-hander Carson Teel watched the ball sail over the fence, but when he looked at home plate, Benge had yet to begin his trot, his crimson DeMarini still in hand.
