Bedlam baseball: Sooners salvage Bedlam win, halt skid

Finally Sunday, the Oklahoma offense showed some muscle.

Not a lot of flexing, yet just enough, and much needed for the Sooners to salvage a game in the Bedlam series, taking Sunday’s finale 5-3 over Oklahoma State before 5,625 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Anthony Hermelyn’s two-run homer in the sixth inning – OU’s first long ball of the weekend – provided the decisive blow, ending a five-game Sooners losing streak in the process.

“It flipped the switch a little bit for us,” said Hermelyn, the Sooner cleanup hitter. “Everything had been kind of going against us, it felt like.
