STILLWATER — Oklahoma State freshman Austin Eckroat had a one-hole advantage in his semifinal match against Auburn's Brandon Mancheno when he stood about 15 feet off the back of Karsten Creek Golf Club's No. 5 green.
It was already looking like Eckroat's match with Mancheno, the individual runner-up in the stroke play portion of the NCAA men's golf championship, could be a crucial one in deciding who would advance to the match play finals.
While Mancheno looked over his birdie putt, Eckroat chipped in. Mancheno couldn't match the birdie and Eckroat went 2-up.
