ARLINGTON, Texas – Three weeks ago, OSU baseball possessed a No. 3 ranking and held its sights on hosting an NCAA Super Regional.
Merely hosting a regional in Stillwater? That appeared locked up. No questions asked.
But the tides shifted. Five losses in the final seven games of the season suddenly had the Cowboys’ postseason-seeding future murkier than the waters of Lake Carl Blackwell. Then came a loss in the first found on the Big 12 Tournament to complicate it further.
Even after recovering with wins over Baylor on Thursday and top-seeded TCU on Friday, not all are convinced it will be enough for OSU to play another game in O’Brate this season.
