If you weren’t watching the Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday, you missed out on quite the display of professional golf. Alex Noren, former Oklahoma State golfer, started the day with a one-shot lead after 54 holes. To grab his first PGA Tour win, he’d have to fend off a heroic effort from some of golf’s elite.
After 72 holes of regulation, we still didn’t have a winner. Jason Day, Ryan Palmer, and Alex Noren engaged in a sudden-death playoff after being tied at 10-under through regulation.
Palmer would eventually be knocked out after the first playoff hole, but Day and Noren would duke it out in a battle that wouldn’t be decided on Sunday.
